Police Reports: Multiple Fraud and Vandalism Cases

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – July 28

A 71-year-old Marshfield man reported sending $150 to a female he met online who he only knows as “Rose” and has been chatting with her over the past few months. The man stated the female has recently asked him to send more money and he believes he is being seamed. The man was instructed to end all contact with the female subject and to not send any more money. The man also informed this officer that he sent a picture of his personal information to include his bank account information to the female using his cell phone. The man was instructed to contact his bank immediately and inform them of this so they can take appropriate action on their end. The man stated that he has no money in that account so he has suffered no further financial loss. No further action taken.

July 29

Staff with City of Marshfield Parks and Rec reported a male subject inside the building not wearing a shirt and making inappropriate comments to the female staff making them uncomfortable. Officers located the male, instructed him to put a shirt on and stop making inappropriate comments. The male complied with officers requests and left the building a short time later without incident. No further involvement.

Probation called stating there was a 39-year-old Milladore male who needed to be transported to Wood County Jail on a Probation violation. They also stated that he was brought there via car by a 40-year-old Plover female who admitted to be under the influence of methamphetamine. An Act 79 search was completed on the female and the vehicle and multiple drug items were located. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA office. See report for further details.

A 46-year-old Marshfield female reported an unknown individual had stolen her identity and received unemployment benefits. The woman reported this incident to the state and actions are being done to prevent anything further. The woman is taking steps with her financial institutions. The woman wanted it documented with Law Enforcement. No further information to pursue an investigation.

A 44-year-old Marshfield man reported an unknown person(s) applied online for a Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business Recovery Grant using his identity. He stated the Wisconsin Department of Revenue did not process the application and notified him of the fraud. He stated he did contact the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to file a report. He stated they will be looking into the matter further. He is not out any monies. Nothing Further.

July 31

A 19-year-old Marshfield female reported setting her wallet down behind the staffing booth of the Hub City Days car show and briefly walked away; however, when she returned the wallet was gone. There was no cash in the wallet; however, there were two debit cards from U.S. Bank and Valley Community Credit Union and a driver’s license. The woman was advised to notify her creditors of the lost cards.

A male and female in a silver 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota, with front passenger fender damage, pumped $40 worth of gas at Kwik Trip and then left without paying for it. The female was thin, about 5’05”, 20-30 years old, and had purple dyed hair; the male was about the same height and age with shoulder length darker blonde hair.

August 1

A traffic stop was conducted on Central Ave in Marshfield. A 61-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for an outstanding Marshfield Police Department warrant. The male was taken into custody, posted bond and released.

A 42-year-old Marshfield woman’s mailbox was damaged. The damage was from a can of fruit being thrown through the side of the mailbox causing a large hole. The woman did not have any possible suspects.

August 3

Probation called asking for assistance at a Marshfield residence as a 32-year-old Marshfield male was in possession of items he was not supposed to have inside of the residence. Officers arrived and located multiple drug related items. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.

August 4

A 40-year-old Marshfield woman was taken into custody for a previous incident. During a search incident to arrest, one Oxycodone pill and two Clonidine Hydrochloride pills were located in the woman’s purse. The female stated she had a prescription for the pills. The female was informed she would be required to provide proof of the prescription or charges will be requested for possession of the pills without a prescription.

A 42-year-old Fond Du Lac man contacted police to report finding graffiti on the exterior walls of the property of 442 S. Central Ave., and while inspecting the damage he noticed some minor graffiti done to his property right next door. The owner of the property of 442 S. Central Ave. could not be located and there is currently no contact info on file for the owner, however it was learned form a relative that he is apparently aware of the deteriorating conditions of the property. The Fond Du Lac man will advise at a later time if he wishes to be listed as a victim in the case as the damage to his property was minor.

August 5

A 50-year-old Marshfield woman reported that her 14-year-old daughter left the residence and was with an 18-year-old Spencer male. Contact with the daughter was made and she agreed to stay home the remainder of the evening. See officer report for more information.

Park Patrol Officer Lenz located damage to both the men’s and women’s restroom signs at Griese Park. Photos of the damage were uploaded to Axon.

A 20-year-old Marshfield female reported a disturbance taking place at her residence. Officers responded and assisted in a civil dispute between the female and an 18-year-old Marshfield female.

A 36-year-old Marshfield female called dispatch to report a dispute with her aunt regarding a package that was not being turned over. The 36-year-old arrived at her aunt’s place of employment and a disturbance occurred. Upon officer arrival both were separated and the aunt provided false information repeatedly to officers which ultimately lengthened the investigation. The 36-year-old was cited for Disorderly Conduct and the aunt was cited for Obstructing. Both individuals were warned to have no further contact or they may be cited. Follow up.

A 37-year-old man reported damage to several items within the Jer Lang Show Palace. Investigation to follow.

August 6

A 14-year-old Marshfield girl reported that a 15-year-old Marshfield juvenile would not leave her residence and was swearing at her. Contact was made with the juvenile outside the residence. The juvenile was found to be in possession of two bottles of alcohol and admitted to stealing them from Festival Foods. The juvenile was turned over to his grandmother, issued citations and a referral for disorderly conduct will be sent to the Wood County Human Services.
