Police Reports: Pit Maneuver Used on Fleeing Suspect

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – February 16

A 51-year-old Marshfield woman came to station to request officers assist her in going back to her residence to check if a respondent for a restraining order was present. Upon the woman having officers clear her apartment the respondent was in her own room within the residence and refused to leave. Later in the day the woman did leave the residence with officer assistance and services provided. She was also served eviction/TRO paperwork by woso. No further action.

A 61-year-old landlord came to the police station after receiving text message threats from a 44-year-old tenant that he was going through the process of eviction. The landlord has video surveillance from hallway that disputes the tenants threat. The tenant was contacted and did not want to report any information at this time. See taped report.

A 56-year-old Marshfield woman and an 18-year-old Marshfield man reported to an officer that they believe a 30-year-old Rhinelander, WI, male is attempting contact after being released from jail. The woman stated the male is her son who was recently released from Dodge County Correctional Institution. It was also confirmed that both the woman and the 18-year-old man have a valid restraining order against the male. After investigation it was determined no violation was committed at this time. Attempts will be made to contact the male to avoid possible future contact with the complainants.

February 23

A victim reported observing on her credit report that an individual attempted opening a small business previously loan had with an her alert placed personal on her information. No loan was obtained and there was no financial loss. The victim stated she previously had an alert placed on her credit report and she was going to have another alert placed on it. No further action taken.

A victim reported a disturbance with a 33-year-old Marshfield Male. The male was taken in to custody for a Probation Hold and new charges for Disorderly Conduct. The male was transported to Wood County Jail and Charges will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office.

Following a traffic stop, suspected marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms were located. A 29-year-old Marshfield female was arrested and transported to the Wood County jail for a probation hold. Charges were requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

Goodwill contacted dispatch advising there has been a female party in the store acting strange for several hours. Contact was made with a 29-year-old Stratford female in the store. The female was taken into custody on an active warrant. A request for charges is being forwarded to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office for disorderly conduct as well as retail theft.

February 24

Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle. The female driver was passed out with the vehicle in gear and vehicle doors locked. When the female woke up, she fled from officers. A PIT maneuver was performed. The female was taken into custody and transported to the Marathon County Jail. A request for charges will be filed with the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.

A 68-year-old Marshfield man reported that he was the victim of a scam. The man bought $3,900 worth of Target and Apple gift cards and gave the numbers to an unknown male over the phone. Contact was made with Target and Apple corporate and the gift cards had been emptied already. Behrens was given information for IC3.gov, Experian, and Social Security Administration.

A 29-year-old Spencer resident reported her wallet was stolen while she was at Pick N’ Save while in Marshfield. Video surveillance is being viewed by Pick N’ Save loss prevention. The victim was able to cancel her credit cards and contact her bank.
