Police Reports: Retail Thefts and an Unfounded Death Threat

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – February 24

A complainant reported that an unknown at this time person continues to contact her through online messenger and text message. The complainant said a restraining order with a 37-year-old male has expired and she believes the messages are coming from him. The messages are not threatening and as soon as she responds with that persons name and says to stop, the messages do. A few weeks to months later the messages start again from a different online account or phone number. At this time the complainant wanted the incident documented in the event the messages escalate.

March 3

Roehl trucking reported a 25-year-old Tennessee female in distress outside of their orientation building. The female reported an argument between herself and her 57-year-old Tennessee boyfriend. The parties were separated after an investigation.

March 4

Officers were dispatched to a report of a male and female yelling. Contact was made and the incident was found to have occurred and during a verbal disagreement with the listed victim and a 27-year-old Marshfield male, escalated to physical contact. The male was taken into custody and transported to Wood County Jail with Charges for Disorderly Conduct Domestic Related will be sent to the Wood County D.A.’s Office.

March 5

A 50-year-old Marshfield man reported the above vehicle was struck and damaged while legally parked between midnight and 8 a.m. on March 5. The striking vehicle was not located. Photos of the vehicle damage will be included in this case file. This is an informational report for insurance purposes.

A 19-year-old Marshfield female reported a disturbance. A 28-year-old Marshfield citizen was taken into custody and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

March 7

A Loss Prevention employee reported a retail theft that occurred at a local business. The suspect left prior to officers arrival but was identified from previous police contacts. Contact was made with the 36-year-old Marshfield male and he turned himself in to the Marshfield Police Department. The male was booked and released for retail theft and issued a disorderly conduct citation for his behavior on scene.

A 53-year-old Marshfield woman contacted dispatch regarding text messages she was receiving from a 17-year-old female. The messages were making comments how the complainant was a bad mother and threatening to beat up her 16-year-old son for something he allegedly did over the weekend. Contact was made with the 17-year-old who agreed to cease messaging or contact. She also would not make contact with the son. No further action needed.

March 9

A Walmart Loss Prevention employee reported having a 43-year-old Marshfield female in custody for retail theft. The employee believes the female has committed other retail thefts in the recent past at Walmart. Walmart LP will gather further details on the other incidents and follow up will be done at that time.

A victim reported that on 3-5-22 she found that 10-15 .5mg pills were missing from her prescription bottle. The victim said she also had 10-15 pills taken from her in Chippewa County before this incident occurred. There were three people in contact with her during her stay in Marshfield. Contact will be attempted with those people.

An Act 79 search was conducted at a Marshfield location after allegations were made that a 30-year-old Marshfield male held a gun and knife to a female’s head and threatened to kill her. No evidence supporting the allegation was found. The 30-year-old male was taken into custody for a probation violation and transported to the Wood County Jail.

March 10

A Probation and Parole agent reported a 26-year-old Marshfield female violated conditions of her probation and was being taken into custody on a probation hold. Contact was made with the female and she was transported to Marshfield PD and then taken to Wood County Jail. No further action was taken.

A 39-year-old Marshfield female reported her vehicle was struck by a white-colored SUV while she was purchasing gas at a local gas station. The driver of the SUV left the scene after striking the woman’s vehicle. Contact was made with the owner of the SUV, a 73-year-old Marshfield female, and a citation was issued for hit and run. The damage that occurred did not meet the criteria for a state reportable crash.

A medical social worker reported a 70-year-old patient with disabilities made threats to harm her at Marshfield Medical Center. The worker stated the male is upset because he feels the worker is the reason he needs to stay at the medical center. The worker stated the male does not have access to weapons and administration has made changes so the male does not have access to the worker.
