Police Reports: Safe cracker steals diamond earrings

December 4

A New London woman disclosed to a Waupaca Sheriff’s Department Detective that she was involved in a physical altercation with her boyfriend in Marshfield. Charges are being requested through the Marathon County D.A.’s office.

December 9

A 67-year-old Marshfield woman reported a pair of diamond earrings missing from a safe at her residence. She stated the safe would’ve been locked by a combination which only she knew; however, there were no signs of forced entry to the residence or the safe, and the safe was found open. During the contact, the woman disclosed to officers that several items that were suspected to be stolen were left at her residence by a 42-year-old Marshfield male acquaintance of her daughter who had been staying at the residence temporarily. Those items were seized and returned to the owner. The case is under investigation.

A staff member of The Store gas station contacted law enforcement and reported a theft of lottery tickets by an employee. She provided documentation and video was observed for some of the thefts. A charge of theft will be requested through the Marathon Co. DA’s office against a 20-year-old Marshfield woman.

December 10

A 68-year-old man reported a disturbance with his 25-year-old roommate of 14 days. Charges of disorderly conduct domestic abuse will be directed to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office. The 25-year-old was also held on a probation hold.

A 24-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for a probation hold. The 24-year-old male was transported to MMC or medical clearance and later transported to Wood County Jail.

A Marshfield man reported that while he was conducting exterior house repairs, he noticed the homeowner’s ladder missing the following morning. The ladder was left leaning up against the north side of the house overnight The theft would have occurred between 12/9 1530 – 12/10 0700 and there are no suspects.

A victim reported her wallet was stolen while she was at Fleet farm on 12/10 between 1145-1155 am. Investigation to continue.

December 11

A 42-year-old Marshfield woman reported that her juvenile daughter had left their home. The daughter was soon located.

December 12

A 31-year-old Marshfield man contacted police and reported harassment from a 29-year-old Spencer male because of a 24-year-old female. The female has gone back and forth in a relationship between him and the other male multiple times which has caused him and the other male to be mad at each other. The man stated the other male has made false reports against him. The female was spoken to and acknowledged to being the reason he and the other male are mad at each other and realizes her actions of leading both of them on are causing their behaviors. Both the complainant and the other male were informed to have no further contact with each other or citations would likely ensue.

A Marshfield woman stated that a FedEx package had been delivered to her apartment building on December 6, 2020, but she never received it. I contacted the apartment manager and he stated that the camera system hasn’t been working and there would be no video footage.

A 55-year-old Marshfield woman called 911 advising her husband, a 40-year-old Marshfield male was having a seizure and was possibly overdosing on prescription medication. Officers and EMS responded to the scene and the male was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center. Wood County Human Services was contacted regarding juvenile children staying in the home and Wood County Crisis was contacted regarding the male. Wood County Crisis will be evaluating the male at a later time. Grandparents were contacted to stay with them and the children.

A 51-year-old Marshfield woman reported that the front license plate had been taken from her vehicle. The woman was not certain of when or where this had occurred. The rear plate was removed from the vehicle and taken by police. The woman was instructed to contact the OMV for new registration plates.

A 35-year-old Marshfield woman called to report a disturbance at her residence. The woman and her 43-year-old husband had been yelling at each other and the wife had left briefly to cool off. While she was gone the husband began yelling, swearing, and proceeded to throw empty beer cans and cups at his 16-year-old step-daughter. This upset other small children in the household. When the wife returned she contacted this department. The husband was taken in custody outside, transported to the station, booked, and released to a friend’s house for the night. A charge of Disorderly Conduct will be referred to Wood County District attorney’s office.

December 14

A 24-year-old Marshfield male reported hearing a male subject yelling at him from the backyard of a separate residence each time he would walk outside his home. The man stated the unknown male was yelling that he was going to shoot him and his family however the man does not know who the male is or where he is. Officers made contact at multiple residences in the area where he believed the yelling was coming from and nobody else heard or observed anything matching this reported behavior. At this time, it is believed that the man may be experiencing some sort of mental health event due to the circumstances surrounding these reported events. No further involvement at this time.

A 55-year-old man reported an unknown subject made entry to his business on the 900 block of S. Central Ave and took a handgun along with a large sum of cash from the register over the weekend while the business was closed.

A Marshfield woman reported her ex-boyfriend whom she has a temporary restraining order against was posting comments on Facebook referencing their relationship status and past issues. She also reported receiving a text message from an unknown phone number requesting she work things out with the ex-boyfriend however they refused to provide their name. The woman believes the text message came from the ex-boyfriend using a text messaging app that disguises the phone number. An investigation into the matter is ongoing at this time.

December 15

A Marshfield woman contacted police and reported an incident between her and a 34-year-old Marshfield male. The male was ultimately arrested and transported to the Wood Co Jail. Charges for Battery (Domestic Related) and False Imprisonment will be requested against the male through the Wood Co DA’s Office.

A 19-year-old Marshfield woman reported receiving a check worth $3,000 via email from an unknown male after contact with him on social media. She deposited the check into her checking account via mobile banking where the male then requested her to return partial funds back to him via mobile banking, where she sent a total of $700.00. Throughout the investigation, it was learned that the check was fraudulent, and did not bounce yet on the account. Contact was made with a US Bank representative who stated that when the expected check is to bounce, the woman will be responsible to return the $700.00, overdraft fees, and return check fees to US Bank.

A Vesper man reported his bike stolen from his place of employment on December 12. Surveillance footage was able to identify a 51-year-old Marshfield male as the suspect who removed the bike from the bike rack and rode off with it. Contact was made with the suspect via phone who acknowledged to taking the bike and said he would return it to the police department. The suspect never returned the bike to the police department. Charges of Theft and Mis. Bail Jumping will be requested through Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
