Marshfield Police Department Reports

12.2.19 at 0727
The manager of Mary’s Place reported damage to a second story bedroom window of the building consistent with someone firing a pellet or BB gun at the window. It is not believed that the damage is recent due to the exterior screens being replaced in August 2019 and showing no damage. The manager requested a report documented in case of future criminal damage. No suspects at this time.

12.2.19 at 1000
An officer responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of S. Cherry Ave. and E. 9 St. A 24-year-old Marshfield female was transported by ambulance to MMC for injuries sustained. Upon speaking to the female at MMC it was learned she has been depressed lately and the crash did not help. A “Red Sheet” was left and MMC staff contacted police when the female was ready to be discharged. The female stated she was not suicidal and did not want to hurt herself or anyone else. The female had friends that were with her and were going to remain with her. The female was provided Crisis Intervention’s phone number.

12.2.19 at 1637
Probation and Parole office requested officers to respond to her office to place a 21-year-old Marshfield male into custody on a probation violation. As a result of the arrest, the male was found to be in possession of stolen checks and prescription medication. The male was transported to the Marshfield PD for booking and later to the Wood County Jail. Charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

12.3.19 at 1355
A 27-year-old Vesper man was arrested for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 100 block of S. Chestnut Ave. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and was then transported to the WOSO Jail.

12.4.19 at 0212
A 69-year-old male advised that he believed he was pushed down a flight of stairs at a location on W. Veterans Parkway by a 44-year-old Marshfield male. Marshfield EMS was dispatched to the scene on 11.29.19 and determined the man had fallen down the stairs accidentally.

12.4.19 at 2102
A 48-year-old Marshfield woman contacted dispatch advising her 17-year-old child was out of control. The 17-year-old Marshfield female had calmed down upon arrival of officers. The woman stated this has been an ongoing issues for a few days and that her daughter has been getting worse and more aggressive. Officers spoke to the 17-year-old female and mother. It was determined no law enforcement action was necessary and the family would be seeking counseling regarding the issues.

12.4.19 at 1601:
It was reported that an elderly Marshfield man had been found in his home. EMS arrived and found no signs of life. Police responded and the Wood County Coroner was contacted.

12.4.19 at 1628
Complainant reported that a 31-year-old Marshfield male offered to fix the timing belt on his vehicle. Complainant agreed to the repairs and found that the engine needed to be replaced, and this was purchased. A fire happened at the 31-year-old’s residence and the vehicle hasn’t been fixed. The complainant’s phone calls to the 31-year-old have not been returned and the complainant would like his vehicle and money back. Officer explained that this was a civil issue and the process for that, and offered to contact the male to get the vehicle back. At this time there does not appear to be a criminal element to the situation.
