Police Reports: Unemployment Claim Opened in Spencer Woman’s Name by Unknown Suspect

6.10.20 at 0752
A 21-year-old Marshfield woman, who’s in a relationship with a 21-year-old Marshfield, contacted police in regards to damage done to her and the man’s residence. The woman suspected the male’s child’s mother to be involved as she had asked her to move out after the man was involved in a fireworks accident that has kept him hospitalized in Milwaukee. When the child’s mother left, she took the man’s vehicle to Plainfield. The male is requesting the vehicle be turned over to his girlfriend. A TTY was sent to Waushara Co requesting a civil standby during the vehicle pick up.

6.11.20 at 1137
A Spencer woman reported learning from her employer’s human resource division that an unknown individual opened an unemployment claim in her name. Her employer was contacted by an unemployment office to confirm the status of her employment. The woman stated she did not open the claim. At this point she has had no financial loss and has been directed to call her financial institutions and the credit bureau. No suspects.

6.11.20 at 1424
A Marshfield man reported minor scratches and paint chip marks on the driver’s side of his vehicle next to the handle. There are no suspects at this time and extra patrol was suggested.

6.11.20 at 1436
A Granton woman reported that a red minivan drove into her rear bumper several times while in the drive-thru. The damage caused very minimal damage. A older male was driving the van with an older woman as the front passenger. The van also had a handicapped placard hanging. The minivan pulled ahead and left the parking lot. Video was not available from the business on the 1600 block of S. Central Ave.

6.12.20 at 0630
A victim reported that an unknown vehicle hit his mailbox, breaking the post. It appeared that a vehicle backed into the mailbox and left the scene. Officers spoke with a 20-year-old Marshfield female who said it looked to be a Red Jeep Grand Cherokee with an unknown registration or damage. There was a red paint transfer on the wooden post.

6.12.20 at 1903
A 69-year-old Marshfield man reported that his wife, a 69-year-old Marshfield woman, had slapped him. Further investigation revealed that the man was intoxicated and was in violation of his bond (Marathon Case# 2020CM000256). After speaking with the woman, it was also determined that he had acted disorderly. He was arrested, transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures and he was able to post the required bond. He was released but he returned home violating the 72 hours no contact. He was arrested, transported to MMC for medical clearance, and then transported to Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County DA’s Office.

6.13.20 at 1035
A 20-year-old Hewitt female created a disturbance at Marshfield Medical Center when she became physically combative after attempting to leave after medical advice. The female was able to calm down and was later released to her mother. Wood County Crisis Intervention was contacted. She was issued a warning for disorderly conduct.

6.13.20 at 1408
A disturbance occurred on the 800 block of E. Blodgett St caused by a 32-year-old Marshfield male who struck a 7-year-old victim in a disciplined manner but still caused bodily harm. The disturbance continued between the male and the 28-year-old victim. The male left the residence before officers arrived and upon contact will be taken into custody. Charges for Child Abuse, Disorderly Conduct will be sent to Wood County D.A’s office. Wood County Human Services were also contacted.

6.13.20 at 1720
A 25-year-old Merrill female left a business on W McMillan Street without paying for gas. Surveillance footage showed that she left in a 2013 Dodge passenger van, which she is the registered owner for. The footage also showed that the female attempted to take lottery tickets from behind the cash register while an employee was not present. Follow-up contact was attempted by this department as well as the Lincoln County Sheriffs Department but was unsuccessful. The female was mailed citations for disorderly conduct and fraud on the gas station.

6.13.20 at 1745
A Marshfield woman reported her 19-year-old and 16-year-old sons were out of control and displaying violent behavior. The 19-year-old was taken into custody for Battery and Disorderly Conduct Domestic Related. While in officer custody the male began making suicidal statements and Crisis was contacted. The male was taken to MMC for Medical Clearance. Ultimately a safety plan via Bridgeway was established. That safety plan was unsuccessful and a 72-hour emergency detention was placed. A juvenile referral was completed regarding the 16-year-olds actions for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County DA.

6.13.20 at 1932
A stray cat with no collar reported on the 300 block of S Cedar Ave. The owner was successfully located with the cat’s microchip. The cat was turned over to the listed owner’s husband. Written warning completed.

6.14.20 at 1029
A 38-year-old Marshfield female reported that she was receiving unwanted messages from her ex-boyfriend, a 46-year-old Melrose male. Both parties were advised to discontinue contacting one another or law enforcement action would be taken. Both parties stated that they understood.

6.14.20 at 1128
A Victim reported that during the overnight hours an unknown vehicle struck her mailbox with the passenger side mirror. The glass from the mirror was left at the scene and it belongs to a 2016 to 2018 Honda Pilot. No other information is available at this time. The glass was taken and placed into evidence in the event that the vehicle is found.

6.14.20 at 1616
Officers were requested to respond to an address on the 400 block of W Cleveland St for a verbal argument between a 63-year-old Marshfield male and a 33-year-old Marshfield male. Both parties shared vastly different stories. The neighbors were contacted and advised that they did not witness the argument. Both parties were warned to avoid contact with the other.

6.15.20 at 1148
A vehicle stop was conducted on a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan for an equipment violation. During the traffic stop, an exterior vehicle sniff was conducted by K9 Steffi. K9 Steffi alerted to the odor of a controlled substance emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and contraband was located. Charges for Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia will be requested through Marathon County DA’s against a 30-year-old Marshfield male.

6.16.20 at 2242
A Marshfield man contacted the police after he heard glass break from his second-story living room window. Outside of the residence officers found broken glass and a cement block that was thrown, causing damage to the window. A neighborhood canvas was completed. No suspects at this time.

6.16.20 at 0708
Marshfield business owner reported damage to his business on E. Arnold St in the overnight hours of 06-15-2020 — 06-16-2020. Two vehicles were vandalized using spray paint. Various bricks and small structures were also spray-painted on the property. Cameras in the area were checked and were not working at the time of the offense. No suspects at this time.

6.18.20 at 0012
While on patrol officers observed a vehicle with poor driving behavior. A traffic stop was conducted on a 43-year-old Marshfield male. The male was ran through SFST and later arrested for OWI 1st. Defendant submitted to a legal blood draw and was later released to a responsible party.
