Police Reports: Unknown Suspect Slashes Tires, Breaks Windows

2.7.20 at 0833
The complainant reported that, while attempting to file her 2019 federal income tax return online, she learned that the IRS rejected her return as her dependent child’s social security number had already been used by an unknown offender(s) that previously filed a tax return. She was provided the appropriate IRS forms, which she completed and gave copies to the Marshfield Police Department in order that they submit required information to the IRS. She was also informed to follow the instructions provided for submission of the same forms to the IRS.

2.7.20 at 1105
It was reported that a window had been broken on a door. Contact was made with the complainant. It was found there was damage to glass on a door on the north side of the building on West 5th Street. It was found that there was no camera coverage of the door. There were no signs that the building had been entered and no other damage was reported.

2.7.20 at 1244
The victim stated that she placed a wedding ring set which is soldered together along with a three rings set on a seat within the old gymnasium of Marshfield Middle School between 2.6.20 at 1730 and 2.6.20 at 1905 during which the offender(s) unknown stole them when they were unattended.

2.7.20 at 1443
It was reported that a 49-year-old male had sent checks to a 19-year-old Marshfield woman. The checks initially cleared but were later found to be fraudulent. The 19-year-old woman sent a portion of the money back via purchased gift cards to the 49-year-old male prior to the checks being found fraudulent.

2.8.20 at 0518
A 28-year-old Marshfield man wished to report an assault that occurred early the morning of 2.8.20 in the city of Marshfield. Officers located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect was identified as a 19-year-old Marshfield male. The suspect was arrested and transported to Marshfield Medical Center for medical treatment and clearance. Suspect was later booked and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA office.

2.10.20 at 1850
Crash report: A vehicle struck a toilet that was left in the middle of its lane of travel. The driver stated she was looking at another object, which was eventually discovered to be another toilet left in the W/B lane and did not realize there was a toilet in her lane of travel until it was too late to avoid striking it. The investigating officer believes the toilets were intentionally left in the roadway as they were both upright and intact prior to the collision.

2.10.20 at 2206
A Marshfield woman reported a noise complaint at Laurel Ct. Upon arrival, a male ran on foot away from officers. This male was ultimately taken into custody for a DOC warrant and resisting an officer. Charges will be forwarded to the Wood County DA.

2.11.20 at 0745
A Pittsville man reported a male individual jumped out of a window of his moving car. The man stated he was providing a ride for this individual and stated he was not wearing shoes. A short time later Wood County Dispatch received a second phone call regarding this individual from a woman. The woman stated that the male was pounding on her bay window and then seen pacing and banging on an off duty Clark County Sheriff squad car that was in the driveway. Officers located the male individual, a 35-year-old Marshfield male. After a brief struggle the male was placed under arrest and transported to the Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance.

2.12.20 at 0600
A 45-year-old Marshfield man reported that damage was done to the rear window and rear passenger side tire of his vehicle. It was reported by a neighbor that prior to 1230 a.m. on 2.12.20 everything appeared normal and no disturbance had occurred prior to that time. The complainant found at approximately 0600 on 2.12.20 the vehicle window had been broken. Police also made contact with the complainant’s juvenile daughter who is the primary operator of the vehicle. It was suspected by the primary operator that a juvenile Wood County female was responsible for the damage. It was reported that there were prior disputes between the primary vehicle operator and the Wood County female.

2.12.20 at 1030
It was found that damage had been done to a window at a bar between 211.20 2030 and 2.12.20 1030. There was no external camera footage found on the premises or on the other area homes. Contact was made with the upstairs tenant of the building. The tenant reported hearing no disturbances on the premises.

2.12.20 at 0957
It was reported that two pickup trucks had damage done to them. The first was a 2004 White GMC Sierra. The passenger side tires did appear to be cut or slashed. The second vehicle was a 2008 Red Ford F-150. The second vehicle also reportedly had its tires cut or slashed. The second vehicle was not on scene and was in the process of being repaired by the time police arrived. There was camera coverage of the area.

2.13.20 at 0210
A 55-year-old Spencer male was arrested for domestic battery and a probation hold following a disturbance with the victim. The male was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then was transported to Wood County Jail.

2.13.20 at 0632
Between 2.13.20 0258 to 0302 a suspect driving a white Saturn had pumped 11.2 gallons of gasoline at Kwik Trip and drove off immediately after finishing. The suspect concealed his face and was blocked by the vehicle, the license plates were covered in snow, and a front seat passenger concealed their face as well. Video surveillance was rather distorted due to blowing snow/wind. Unknown suspect/s.

2.13.20 at 1043
An 18-year-old Marshfield Senior High adult student was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She was placed into handcuffs, searched, and transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking, afterward she was released without incident. A request for charges is being requested through the Wood County district attorney for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

2.13.20 at 1049
It was reported that a newer model Chevrolet Silverado was seen at a fuel pump at the Bread and Butter shop. The driver of the vehicle was a white female with dark hair and glasses. The driver fueled the truck. She made no attempt to pay inside or at the pump. The driver then went back inside the truck and drove, leaving the scene.
