7.2.20 at 0214
A 35-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for OWI 1 st on 07/02/2020 on a traffic stop in the city of Marshfield. He was transported to MMC for medical evaluation and later released to his girlfriend.

7.3.20 at 0139
A Marshfield woman reported that there was a highly intoxicated female outside of her residence pounding on the door and not leaving. Officers arrived and observed a 38-year-old Marshfield female throwing a chair at the front door entrance trying to gain entry. The female was transported to her residence. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA office.

7.8.20 at 1544
A 28-year-old Marshfield woman reported hearing what she believed was a physical domestic disturbance coming from the above apartment. Officers investigated and arrested a 22-year-old Marshfield male. Charges are being requested through the Wood County D.A.’s office.

7.9.20 at 0844
60-year-old Marshfield woman reported that when she confronted her son, a 34-year-old Marshfield male, about an alcohol bottle that she found under his mattress, he became verbally aggressive towards her and grabbed her wrist to get the bottle back. The woman reported that she did not believe the male intentionally tried to hurt her, nor that he was drinking this morning. She wanted the male removed from the residence, which he agreed to leave by noon. Male does currently have four open cases that do have an absolute sobriety rule, although it does not clarify about possession. Officers did not have any indication that he was currently intoxicated.

7.9.20 at 2300
Officers were dispatched for a report of a domestic disturbance. A 34-year-old Marshfield male was subsequently arrested for A Domestic Battery and Disorderly Conduct. The male posted bond and was released. Charges were requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

7.10.20 at 0900
Def stated he was traveling s/b on Veterans Pkwy when he left the roadway at the peach st overpass causing a collision with multiple wood barricade poles, and light pole. One witness reported seeing the above vehicle traveling at a speed of approximately 80 mph while another witness reported seeing the vehicle traveling at 60-80 mph immediately before. The crash in the posted 35 mph zone. Inside the vehicle, an open bottle fireball cinnamon whiskey was observed on the passenger seat. There was a small amount of alcohol missing with the seal broken. Def was transported to the Marshfield medical center where this officer made contact with him.  Due to the severity of his injuries no other exams were performed. Def provided a PBT sample reading. The def stated he had gotten home from work approximately an hour and a half prior and consumed approximately three eight oz glasses of bourbon on ice. Def briefly passed out and awoke believing it was the next morning and was late for work. Def stated he was driving s/b on veterans when he lost control due to possible hydro-planing. Def consented to a blood draw which was preformed and mailed to the state lab of hygiene. Def last prior OWI arrest date was 07-17-2010.

7.10.2020 at 1111
Probation & Parole asked officers to assist with taking a 31-year-old Marshfield male into custody for a probation violation and attempt to seize custody of his cell phone. The male consented to handing his phone over to law enforcement to be turned over to P&P. The complainant said he would be coming to the PD to pick up the phone. The male was ultimately medically cleared at MMC and then transported to Wood County Jail.

7.10.20 at 1147
A Marshfield man reported receiving a letter in the mail indicating that his request for unemployment benefits was accepted, but he did not fill out this request. He contacted his place of employment and already placed a freeze on his credit. The man has not accrued any monetary loss. There are no suspects.

7.10.2020 at 2354
On duty Auxiliary reported damage to the mirror in the men’s bathroom at Griese Park while on routine patrol. A rock being thrown was the cause of the damage. Pictures were taken and the damage was reported to parks and rec., no known suspects at this time.

7.11.20 at 0012
A Marshfield woman reported concerns for her boyfriend, a 25-year-old Marshfield man. She stated that her boyfriend suffers from PTSD and depression and she has not been able to make any contact with him since July 10, 2020, at 2100. The woman agreed that this did not meet the criteria for a missing persons report, but asked officers if they do come in contact to stop and check welfare. The man was located July 11, 2020, at 0200.

7.11.20 at 0033
A Marshfield woman called 911 for assistance with her 13-year-old son who was suicidal. Officers responded to the residence along with Marshfield Fire and Rescue due to the woman stating her son ingested 15-20 iron pills. Paramedics had the 13-year-old drink activated charcoal. Officer called Wood County Crisis intervention. The Crisis Worker set up a safety plan with the woman and the 13-year-old. The 13-year-old was left in the care of his mother with scheduled follow-up calls from Crisis.

7.11.10 at 0730
Manger of Wildwood Park & Zoo reported several found items, including a cooler, fishing net, and multiple rods and reels. All items are being held by the Marshfield Police Department.

7.11.20 at 0730
It was reported a vehicle that went off the roadway by the Wildwood Park & Zoo upper pond lookout tower. Deep ruts were found off the roadway as well as damage to one of the animal enclosures. Damaged car parts and other items were located where the vehicle hit the enclosure. The complainant requested an informational report for their records. No follow up necessary.

7.11.20 at 0835
A 21-year-old Greenwood man was arrested for obstructing/resisting an officer during an investigation of a disturbance at the 300 block of W 3rd St. He was transported to Marshfield PD where he was booked and released. In addition, there were 3 underage drinking citations and a social hosting citation written to others present.

7.11.20 at 1205
A Marshfield man reported that between July 10, 2020, at 1200 and July 11, 2020, at 1205, an unknown person(s) removed the keys from 4 pieces of equipment while they were parked on the north side of the building on the 700 block of S. Central Ave. He stated that there are no cameras on that side of the building, but he will review some other exterior cameras to see if they show anything. The man stated that if he finds something, he will let us know. He is requesting extra patrol. There are no suspects.

7.11.2020 at 1405
A grey 18-speed Huffy bike was found on the 500 block of W 17th St.  The bike is being held by the Marshfield Police Department.

7.11.20 at 2112
A detective from Marathon requested assistance while he interviewed a 17-year-old Marshfield man, who was a victim of attempted homicide which occurred in Edgar. Officer responded and was present as back up. The interview was recorded on a body camera.

7.14.20 at 0745
Multiple reports were reported to wood county communications center of the above vehicle’s driving behavior to include almost going in the ditch, deviating from the lane, very high rates of speed to be 80mph+, and overall, “all over the road”. Officers located this vehicle in the area of veterans Pkwy/n. Vine Ave traveling n/b on Veterans. Officer turned around on this vehicle and continued to travel n/b on veterans towards the intersection of Maple Ave/veterans. When the officer got behind this vehicle they noticed it swerve across the fog line and then the centerline. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver identified himself with his valid dl. The driver had extremely slurred and slow speech. The driver submitted to field sobriety tests which he performed poorly. The driver was arrested for OWI and refused a legal blood test. Citations issued to the driver and were eventually released to a sober adult.

7.14.20 at 1525
The def, identified verbally, was involved in a disturbance which included A minor vehicle crash on a public roadway in front of his residence, in which he was an operator of the vehicle. During the investigation, the def’s behavior led officers to believe he may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The def agreed to perform field sobriety tests during which he performed poorly. The def was given several opportunities to submit a PBT sample but would not provide a proper blow. Based on the results of the field sobriety tests, the def was arrested. The def consented to a legal blood draw which was taken at the Marshfield medical center. The def was released to a responsible party. The blood sample was later mailed to the Wisconsin state lab of hygiene.

7.15.20 at 1016
A 65-year-old Marshfield woman reported receiving unwanted messages from her 61-year-old sister and 42-year-old niece. She stated that this has been going on for about a month and has asked them to stop contacting her, but they continue. Phone messages were left with both subjects advising them that any further contact may result in citations.
