Sternweis & Sons Pours Concrete for Water Slide
OnFocus – At Tuesday’s City of Marshfield Common Council meeting, Marshfield Parks and Recreation Director Justin Casperson gave an update on the progress of the Vandehey Waters Aquatic Center Project.
He said the concrete for the waterslide has been poured with help from local contractor Sternweis & Sons.
“Sternweis & Sons is excited to see the pool project progress and is proud to be involved with Vandehey Waters Aquatic Center from the ground up!” said Donna Martin, Sternweis & Sons.
Various piping and electrical fixtures are also being installed as the ground continues to thaw. With the warmer weather, crews need to make sure the soil will stay put as the ground thaws and shifts.
The building is also coming together. Casperson said the windows for the building were installed last week and the foam insulation and inside drywall are being installed.
According to Casperson, the project is currently on-time and on-budget. The project is in phase three of four with phase four being the grand opening which is slated for July 2021.
