Pop Culture YouTube Show Episode 05
Submitted to OnFocus – We’re back for another installment of Pop Cultured, a weekly show where I report the top pop culture news of the week worth knowing about.
This week was a crazy week for news in the pop culture world!
Our first story this week is about country music superstar Morgan Wallen who is receiving huge backlash for being caught on camera using a racial slur. I dive into not only what Morgan said, but also the repercussions that have unfolded since the video went viral.
In story two, I dish on the 2021 Golden Globe nominations, and share my confusion over a few shows and actors being snubbed and a few shows getting nominations I did not expect.
Story three has me unpacking some mega brands like Coke, Pepsi, and Budwieser choosing to not have commercials in Super Bowl LV. I share what they’re doing with the money instead, and the brands that have purchased Super Bowl commercials for the very first time.
In our fourth and final story I report on Jeff Bezos stepping down as Amazon CEO, who’s taking his place at the top of the company, ponder why he chose to step down and what he’ll do now that he’s no longer CEO.
Last but not least. we wrap up with some congrats and condolences. Congrats include a media mogul turning 67, a pop superstar turning 40, and a member of a popular country music band coming out as gay. Condolences include the sudden death of a 90’s sitcom star.
