Voting for the OnFocus Team of the Week, August 28 to September 3 saw voters come out to support our area top teams. Over 4700 readers came to view our post on the area’s top teams. Over 1900 votes were cast!
When the dust settled, Port Edwards Football took the title, with 912 votes.

- Wausau West finished second with 416 votes
- Thorp Football took third, 252 votes
- Medford Boys Socer was fourth with 219 votes
- Gilman Football was fifth with 176 votes
OnFocus Team of the Week, August 28 – September 3
- Port Edwards Football – Port is off to a 2-0 start, collecting wins over Goodman/Pembine(44-14) and Niiagara(47-0).
- Thorp Football – The Cardinals are 2-0, defeating Prairie Farm 52-14 and McDonell Central 50-27.
- Medford Boys Soccer – Medford knocked off two top contenders in the GNC, first defeating Rhinelander(1-1, 6-5 on penalty kicks) and then Lakeland 4-1.
- Wausau West Football – The Warriors’ came back in the second half after trailing 17-7, taking their only lead of the game on Ray Reineck’s 15 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, as Wausau West defeated Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln 20-17 to move to 3-0.
- Gilman Football – The Pirates are off to a 2-0 start, collecting wins over Lake Holcombe(50-0) and Bruce(48-0).
