Port Edwards turned a 14-12 halftime lead into a convincing blowout win, downing Marion in CWC play, 49-23.

Taylor Martin led Port Edwards with 25 points.

The first half saw a close battle with a tied game of 7 a piece at the 6:27 mark.  It stayed this score for over 2 1/2 minutes till Marion went on a 4-0 run to lead 11-7 at around the 2:30 mark.  The Blackhawks would then finish out the half on a 7-1 run of their own with Taylor Martin hitting a 3 as the 1st half came to a close to go into the locker room up 2, 14-12.  Port Edwards came out strong in the second half and went on a 15-1 run to lead 29-13 at the 11:30 mark.
The Mustangs would close that gap to a 12 point deficit, at 33-19 at around the 9:00 minute mark.  But then the Blackhawks would pull away again as they held the Mustangs to only 4 points in that final 9 minutes to finish the game with a score of 49-23.  Taylor Martin led the way with 25 points, connecting on 5 shots from behind the arc and added 6 assists to go along with 7 rebounds.
Melaine Sillars would add 12 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds.  Dakota Bares would lead the Blackhawks in rebounding with 8.  Port Edwards is in action again next week Tuesday as they travel to Tri-County for a 6:00 p.m. start.
