Those on Marshfield’s west and northwest side were without power for about two hours starting at midnight last night.
Marshfield Utilities quickly responded to the electrical outage which affected about 1,700 homes and businesses, facing snowfall, freezing temperatures, and heavy winds. The cause of the outage was a downed wire on a main line circuit.
As of 11 a.m., Marshfield Police Department has responded to four reported accidents since Sunday morning, which they say is typical for this type of weather. It is not yet confirmed how many of these were weather-related.
Up to 6-10 inches of total snow accumulation is expected as the storm continues into Monday afternoon. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. January 28. On Monday, 2-4 inches are expected with winds up to 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
