For Wisconsin Rapids (OnFocus) – The Wisconsin Rapids U19 Senior Legion Baseball team put up 8 runs on 11 hits en-route to the 8-3 victory in the first half of a twi-night doubleheader against the Pride U17 Baseball team Wednesday.
Pride stranded 11 runners, including the bases loaded in the first inning in the loss. Rapids hurler Ty Beyer gave up 7 hits while striking out 4 in his complete game performance.
Stratford’s Kale Weisenberger pitched a complete game 3 hit shutout for Pride in the nightcap.
“Kale had them on their heels all game and we finally got our bats going in game two, scoring 3 runs in each of the first four innings,” said coach Tim Kraus.
Pride drew 8 walks along with 13 hits in the 12-0 victory. Simon Slade led Pride with 4 hits on the evening. With the split, Pride has run its record to 19-5 on the season.
