Primary Elections Sees Spiros Win, Amendments Rejected

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Wisconsin Primary Election on August 13 results have not been finalized, but initial counts show the following that impacts Marshfield and surrounding areas:

U.S. Senate: Tammy Baldwin (Democrat) advanced, as did Eric Hovde (Republican). Full results can be found at Ballotpedia.

Assembly District 86: Redistricting after the 2020 Census led to two Republicans vying for expanded territory in Central Wisconsin, including John Spiros, Donna Rozar, and Trine Spindler. Spiros is the projected winner with 43% of the votes, having held the position since 2012. Rozar, who previously served the 69th assembly prior to redistricting, received 31%. Spindler received 25%. Per WSAW, 97% of precincts have reported.

Amendments: Two Amendment Proposals were included on the ballot. Both were rejected by voters. An explanation of the amendments can be found in our coverage.
