Local Co-op Helps Farmers In Every Step of the Growing Process
With Farm Technology Days coming soon to Wood County, we are showing different aspects of local agriculture. Here’s a look at ProVision Partners and how they assist “from seed to feed.”
Agronomy is the science and technology of producing and using plants for food, fuel, fiber, and land reclamation, involving areas such as plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil science. Incorporating agronomy helps ensure that the seed that is planted in the ground transforms into healthy feed for livestock.
Early on, even as much as a year ahead of time, ProVision Partners will work with customers to evaluate their agronomy goals and determine how to achieve them.
“What ProVision does is provide products and services to our customers to enhance crop production,” said Tom Hoffman, Agronomy Division Manager at ProVision Partners. “All the way from helping to choose proper seed variety, proper pest control, timely harvesting, plant nutrition, all to help plant nutrition.”
A complete farm service industry, ProVision provides not just agronomy service and supplies, but everything a farm needs to be successful.
“Not many companies can do that,” said Hoffman. “We do work together as a team, across departments to close the loop and take it all the way from start to finish.”
ProVision conducts independent field studies of their products, helping to ensure that the seed that is planted turns into quality feed for livestock, and all is done with the best interests of the customer and farm at the forefront.
“We are a locally-owned farmer-owned cooperative,” said Hoffman. “We have a very concerned interest for the region that we serve here. We want to help the friends, neighbors, and colleagues that we serve.”
