Abandoned Puppies Find Hope at Marshfield Area Pet Shelter: How You Can Help

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – True to their New Year’s resolution to “stay positive even when things get ruff,” Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS) is stepping up to care for six puppies discovered abandoned in a box at a Griese Park this week.

Thanks to a compassionate passerby who brought the puppies to safety, these young dogs now have a chance at a brighter future. However, MAPS is asking for the community’s support to provide for their immediate needs.

The shelter is in need of Purina Puppy Chow, canned dog food, paper towels, and monetary donations to cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries. Additionally, MAPS will be seeking adopters for these puppies in the coming weeks.

Executive Director Karen Rau expressed gratitude and the importance of community involvement:

“We never know what will happen at the shelter. Every day is a new adventure. We need to be prepared for anything and rely on our generous community when unexpected challenges arise.”

MAPS is making it easy to contribute. Supporters can donate directly through their website or purchase needed items from their Chewy wish list.

With the help of caring individuals and families, MAPS aims to provide these abandoned puppies with the care, love, and forever homes they deserve.
