Regis pulls past Spencer in Cloverbelt boys basketball sixth-place crossover game

EAU CLAIRE – Eau Claire Regis made 13 3-pointers and blew open a close game with a big second to top Spencer 67-53 in the sixth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference boys basketball crossovers on Thursday night at Regis High School.

Branton Paulsrud made seven of the Ramblers’ 13 3-pointers and scored a game-high 23 points in the win for Regis (13-9).

Regis led 25-23 at halftime before a 42-point second half separated them from Spencer (7-14).

Austin Bacon had 22 points, and Nate Karau added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets.

Spencer wraps up its regular-season schedule with a nonconference game at home against undefeated Stratford (21-0) at 3 p.m. Saturday.
