Madison (OnFocus) – As first reported by The Detroit News, the Big Ten Conference has finalized a football schedule, with play to begin the week of October 17 or October 24.

A source reported that the schedule is set, with the major piece of COVID-19 testing still to be finalized.

Questions remain on which teams will be participating, if the testing piece can be finalized, and if the plan can be approved in time for teams to be ready to play by the anticipated start date.

The proposed plan would allow for the Big Ten Championship Game to be played on December 19, one day ahead of the date the College Football Playoff committee sets the field for the College Football Playoff field of four teams.

This is a developing story. Check back with OnFocus for updates.
