The study by experts at health & wellness website Fitness Brand analysed Google data to establish the diets US residents are searching for the most. They analysed a list of 42 diets across the US to determine which is the most Googled diet in the US and every state.

The top five diets are:

The number one Googled diet in the US is the Mediterranean diet, with 574,797 searches a month on average. A spokesperson for Fitness Brand said: “This study offers a fascinating insight into the current diet and nutrition plans that people in America are interested in trying. The popularity of different diets can change for multiple reasons, whether it’s because it’s trending online or being backed by influential celebrities.

“It is important to note that diets work differently for different people, therefore, it is essential to consult a professional and research if you want to try or have any questions over a diet.”
