Revealed: The NFL’s most foul-mouthed fans

  • New analysis of Reddit data has revealed the NFL fanbase that swears the most and Raiders fans top the list

  • Detroit Lions fans are most likely to drop the ‘C-bomb’

  • Cowboys and Titans fans are most likely to call someone an ‘a**hole’

A new study has revealed the NFL fanbase that swears the most, and Raiders fans have been named the most foul-mouthed.

The research from FlashPicks, a betting picks, parlays, predictions, and news brand, uncovered the sweariest fanbases in the NFL, along with their favorite curse words.

To do so, they analyzed each NFL team’s official subreddit page, altogether making up over 8.6 million fans, and then calculated the number of swear words used per person from September 2023 to 2024, to determine which NFL fans curse the most.

The study revealed that Las Vegas Raiders fans are the rudest fans in the NFL, with a score of 10 out of 10. Of the 135,600 Raiders fans on their subreddit, 0.20% of them published a post including a swear word in the last year.

This equates to a total of 274 curse words used by Raiders fans, with their favorite, the ‘F-word’ used 63 times – the joint most alongside Baltimore Ravens fans. Raiders fans also used ‘d*mn’, ‘a*s’, and ‘h*ll’ more than any other fanbase in the NFL.

Commenting on the research, Callum Broxton, Head of Operations at FlashPicks said: “Passion is a hallmark for NFL fans across the US, with fans showing their support for their teams in a range of different ways, whether it be in the stadium cheering on their team or posting support on social media.

“In the heat of the game things can boil over, not just with players but with fans too, and we’ve seen online the lengths fans will go to to support or defend their team. This study goes to show some of the more fierce supporters in the NFL who don’t shy away from expressing their emotions.”
