Since 1973, Rice’s Capitol Carpet has been serving the flooring and design needs of Marshfield area residents and businesses. Last week, the local business broke ground on a new addition at their current location at 1313 W Veterans Parkway.
“Our goal is to offer more products and services to our amazing customers for both residential and commercial projects,” said Brad L. Lenz, owner. “We also want to have more space to expand our team with people that are a good cultural fit. Currently we have 13 full time W2 team members and would like to add approximately five more over the next year. Also, we will have more space for our team’s offices.”
Brad and Kerry purchased Rice’s Capitol Carpet LLC on Jan 1, 2016 from Brad’s parents, Dave and Kathy, who built the business for 34 years and can still be found in the store from time to time. Last week’s groundbreaking marks the second major expansion for the company.
“In 2001, my parents added on 4,200 square feet when they moved to our current location from Main Street,” said Brad. “This addition will add approximately 6,000 square feet more for an approximate total of 14,000 square footage of showroom plus warehouse showroom.”
Brad is most looking forward to having a more organized and usable warehouse showroom and to also have more space to visibly show Rice’s product offerings and showcase what their team can truly do for customers.
“Expansion will allow us to buy more volume to keep the products our customers need on hand ready to roll out the door at lower prices,” he said. “The expansion will also allow us to expand our paint, window treatment and paint sundries offerings since bringing on the Benjamin Moore product line in the fall of 2017.”
