The Pittsville River Bandits got their first win of the year at The Pit in Pittsville over the Merrill Rangers on the back of a strong 6 inning start from Sawyer Ladick.

Merrill took the lead after Cody Depries knocked in Spencer Schneider in the top of the 5th inning.

Pittsville would respond in the 6th when Nathan Dupee came up big again with a two-RBI double to give Pittsville a 2-1 lead. They would then add two more runs in the 7th with Erick Hahn singling in a run, then Sawyer Ladick hitting a sacrifice fly.

Pittsville would add one more run in the 8th on a past ball and error.

The River Bandits would need those runs as Merrill would score twice in the ninth, but Sam Schwanebeck would come in and close the door for the save.

Ladick would throw 6 innings of one-hit ball, striking out nine, walking 3, giving up only one unearned run. Nathan Dupee would go 1-3 with a double and 2 RBI, Justin Rayburn would go 2 for 3, with a single, a double, and a run scored. Ryan Schwanebeck would go 2 for 3, with a walk.
