OnFocus – Local fire departments responded to a barn fire at approximately 5:00am this morning, just north of Rozellville on Freiders Road. Stratford, McMillan, Edgar, City of Marshfield, and Hewitt departments were on-scene.
“It was a dairy barn that they were using as a milking parlor. All of the cows were in a different barn that didn’t burn,” said Tim Carey, Stratford Fire Department. “The top was fully engulfed. Most of the building was gone when we got on-scene.”
According to Carey, a neighbor spotted the flames, called 911, and went next door to wake the family. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The cows were moved to a farm near Auburndale.
