Marshfield Police Threatened During Stand-off
Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) – On Sunday, July 24th at 5:18 pm nine Marshfield Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Chestnut Ave to a domestic disturbance.
The caller indicated that their 71 year-old father-in-law was causing a disturbance, was highly intoxicated, and was acting erratically. Upon police contact, the adult male barricaded himself into the second story of the home and threatened to shoot law enforcement.
During the duration of the stand-off, the male continued to display very violent and erratic behavior. After nearly 1.5 hours, he surrendered without incident.
Local sources indicate that Central Ave was closed during the incident and Wood County Sheriff’s Department closed the street.
He was taken into custody and a request for prosecution was submitted to the DA.
