WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (OnFocus) – Sgt. Adam Berry of the Wood County Sheriff’s Department competed in the annual Advanced Law Enforcement Risk Training (ALERT) Law Enforcement Challenge last week.
Sgt. Berry competed against other officers from around the state in the competition that was hosted by Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation.
The competition sent participants through a variety of obstacles while having them fire a rifle and service pistol at various targets. Points are then awarded for hit targets and completing the course in a certain timeframe.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Department hosted the competition at the Portage County Sheriff’s Department Rifle Range in Stevens Point.
Berry placed second in the competition and won a plaque for his efforts.
