Wood County Sheriff’s Department release:
On January 25, 2020, at approximately 7:49 a.m., the Wood County Dispatch Center received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on State Highway 54 near County Highway G in the township of Port Edwards.
During the investigation, Wood County Deputies requested the assistance from the Nekoosa Police Department and K9 Ivo.
K9 Ivo alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. During the subsequent search, 39.1 grams of methamphetamine, a .22 revolver, two digital scales and several pieces of drug paraphernalia were recovered.
Three individuals were taken into custody for outstanding warrants and Charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver – Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm will be referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for all three subjects. The names of the individuals will not be released.
