Sheriff’s Squad Struck by Motorist on Easter

Message from Marathon County Sheriff Department

Marathon County (OnFocus) On Easter Sunday, April 12th at approximately 1:45 pm a motorist struck a squad car.

At the time of the incident, one officer was actively getting out of the driver’s side, while another officer was walking along the shoulder in front of the vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.

Marathon County Sheriff’s Department posted dashcam footage of the incident and a reminder about using caution while driving.

Lt Stuart was opening his driver’s door to get out when his squad was struck by another motorist. We share this video as a reminder to please drive with caution and please slow down or move over when passing emergency vehicles.

Deputy Wanless was nearly struck by flying debris as well. Nobody was injured during this incident. Please be safe and have a Happy Easter.
