WOOD COUNTY, WI (OnFocus) – The Wood County Parks and Forestry Department is excited to announce the opening of the single track bicycle trail system at Powers Bluff County Park. This trail has several different segments, which are designed for a variety of skill levels of riding. Current trail length is approximately 3.5 miles. Additional downhill trail segments will be completed in the Spring of 2023.
These trails will be open for biking and snowshoeing throughout the year. Trail use is free for the remainder of 2022. Beginning in 2023, there will be a trail fee required.
Powers Bluff Trail Fees (starting 2023)*:
- Daily- $8.00
- Individual Annual- $30.00
- Family (Parents and children under 18) Annual-$60.00
- Children under 12- Free
Rock Solid Trail Contracting LLC was awarded the construction bid and did an outstanding job creating this trail system.
Parking for the trail system is at the Powers Bluff Hwy N Trailhead Parking Lot, 7141 County Hwy N, Arpin, WI 54410. Due to the cultural and environmental sensitive areas within the park, users must abide by all signage and stay on approved trails.
In addition to the bike trails, future trail construction projects will include a 3 mile multi-use trail and a trailhead shelter building.
*Fees are required for all multi-use and single track trail users at Powers Bluff. Please see trail map for allowable uses on the different trails.
If purchasing an annual pass, a tag will be mailed to you within 14 days of purchase. All trail users must show proof of purchase, upon request, in the form of receipt on their phone, printed copy of receipt, annual tag, or carbon copy of payment envelope.
These passes are also good for Richfield 360 County Forest multi-use trails and Nepco Lake County Park cross-country ski trails.
