MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Construction on a new Slim Chickens in Marshfield is scheduled to begin this fall, according to the City of Marshfield.
Last September, GMX Real Estate Group requested permission from the City of Marshfield to construct a new fast-food restaurant called “Slim Chickens” on the lot just north of Starbucks. The fast-casual restaurant chain specializes in chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, salads, wraps, chicken & waffles, and other items.
The two parcels in question were vacant and zoned Community Mixed Use. According to City of Marshfield documents, GMX is interested in purchasing the parcels and developing them as a commercial use and detention basin. Since the applicant proposes an outdoor patio with a drive aisle across property lines, a conditional use permit was required for the development. They plan to construct a freestanding restaurant and outdoor patio with a drive-thru and self-contained parking and establish cross-access with Starbucks to the south.
