SPASH Boys Edged by Wisconsin Rapids
SPASH fell to Wisconsin Rapids in a WVC match on Tuesday night by a score of 2-1. SPASH opened the scoring in the first half on a goal by Ian Ekstand that was assisted by Leyron Stephens. The Panthers would go into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Rapids responded in the second half with goals by Lane Nieman on a penalty kick and the game winner from Landyn Freeman on an assist from Gavin Jacob.
Coy Brish made five saves for SPASH and Hayden Piesik made five saves for Rapids.
SPASH falls to 2-1 in WVC and 3-7 overall.
“I feel like we let this one slip away. We carried the play in the first half and had other chances to add to our lead. In the second half we let adversity impact our play and did not play with the composure and resilience necessary to tie the game,” shared SPASH Head Coach Bill Loos.
