SPASH Qualifies Four Boys for WIAA State Swimming Championships
Hudson, WI – Saturday was WIAA Sectionals for high school swimmers across the state. SPASH traveled to Hudson to compete against schools from across Central and Western Wisconsin for a chance to qualify for the WIAA State Meet being held February 22, 2025 in Waukesha. SPASH finished as a team in 3rd place just behind second place Eau Claire Alliance. The meet champion was Hudson.
Individually, SPASH Sophomore Tony Raczek won the 200 freestyle and received an automatic state qualification. Once all of the times were submitted across the state, SPASH’s 200 Medley Relay of Jacob Faust, Landon Bicknase, Raczek, and Gavin Stelzer also received a state qualification as one of the top 24 times in the state.
Although just outside of the qualification time, SPASH Senior Landon Bicknase, bested last week’s varsity team record in the 100 breaststroke set by Junior Jacob Faust. Bicknase’s time of 1:01.53 now stands as the new team record.
The four state qualifiers from SPASH will travel to Waukesha South to compete against the top swimmers in the state next weekend for the final meet of the boys swim season.
