Spencer boys basketball falls at home to Gilman

SPENCER – Gilman overcame 30 points from Spencer’s Austin Bacon to beat the Rockets 71-60 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Bacon made 14 of 26 shots from the field and a pair of free throws to total his 30 points, half of Spencer’s output. Nate Karau added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets (1-4, 1-3 Cloverbelt East).

Aaron Nagel had 23 points to lead four Gilman players in double figures. The Pirates are now 3-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Spencer hosts Greenwood on Friday.
