Spencer (OnFocus) – It’s been a long wait for football fans and football teams to start the 2020 season. The wait is finally over, and the season is now here.

We take a look at the Spencer/Columbus Rockets with our Season Preview. We reached out to Coach Jason Gorst for some thoughts on this football season, giving us a glimpse into how the Rockets are getting ready for this year.

OnFocus: How has your coaching staff and team prepared for this season?

Gorst: We are going above and beyond the WIAA recommended protocols. Our coaches and players are masking at all times. We have additional sanitization and no locker room use. We are treating every game as if it is our last and having as much fun as we can along the way.

OnFocus: What are some positives that have come out of practice and the season being delayed?

Gorst: Our players and coaches are committed to do whatever is necessary to reduce risk and give us a chance to get on the field.

OnFocus: Season forecast – What should fans expect to see out of your team this year?

Gorst:  We are returning a lot of experience. We have a lot of depth at the skills positions and some nice potential on the line. QB Gage Stratman and RB Eden Jacobson are our leaders in the backfield with Austin Grubofski and David Ellefson leading the front line.
