OnFocus – At around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, the Spencer Fire Department responded to a house fire west of Marshfield on Veefkind Rd.
The occupant of the home discovered the fire in a bedroom and called authorities.
Upon arrival, the fire had spread to the entire second floor with heavy flames visible from the home. Everyone got out of the house safe and crews worked to extinguish the flames. There were no injuries but the family is currently displaced and is receiving aid from Red Cross.
Assisting the Spencer Fire Department was members of the Central, Chili, Granton, Lincoln and Loyal Departments.
