Spencer volleyball slips past Greenwood, earns first Cloverbelt East win

SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team picked up its first Cloverbelt Conference East Division victory of the season, outlasting Greenwood 3-2 on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets won 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-11, to improve to 1-3 in conference play. Greenwood is now 0-4.

Carsee Neitzel had 29 digs, Chloe Drews had 16 kills, and Shelbi Hoefs added 10 kills and 16 digs for the Rockets.

Setter Zalexis Mannigel had a team-high 34 assists and Heavyn Kind chipped in seven kills for Spencer.

Spencer hosts Neillsville for another Cloverbelt East match on Thursday.
