MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – In the past week, the Marshfield Police Department responded to a range of incidents, showcasing the diversity of situations officers face daily. From assisting in a high-speed vehicle pursuit with spike strips to tackling cases of retail theft and disorderly conduct, local law enforcement has been on alert. The following report highlights seven key incidents, offering a glimpse into the types of situations Marshfield officers have managed to help maintain community safety.

Incident 1
Date: 11/01/2024
Time: 1904 – 2007
Narrative: “On the listed date and time WOSO deputies asked for assistance with a vehicle pursuit taking place south of Marshfield. Marshfield officers were able to deploy spike strips in front of the fleeing vehicle, which ultimately deterred the fleeing vehicle from continuing, and the driver and passenger surrendered to deputies.”

Incident 2
Date: 11/02/2024
Time: 2220 – 2341
Narrative: “On the listed date and time, officers received a report of a disturbance at the above-listed address. When officers arrived on scene, they spoke with the individuals involved in the incident. After speaking with everyone involved, the suspect, a 26-year-old male subject, provided a false last name and was subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct Domestic Abuse and Obstructing.”

Date: 10/28/2024
Time: 1827 – 1829
Narrative: “The housing director of the listed living facility called to report viewing video surveillance that showed an unknown female attempting to gain entry to vehicles in the parking lot, while another person drove a Red Honda Civic in the parking lot. A vehicle was entered that is owned by a 75-year-old man. Contact was made with the victim of the car entry and the car was examined without any items missing. During conversation, the man stated that the same day as the car entry he did locate the above-listed item in the roadway in the 1700 block of N. Chestnut Av. The item was taken and placed in evidence till the owner is located. The man was advised if he noticed items missing later to re-contact the department.”

Date: 11/01/2024
Time: 1203
Narrative: “Target Loss Prevention called dispatch to report a 58-year-old Marshfield woman was in the office after she was stopped for altering price scanning. Upon meeting with staff and the suspect it was explained that the woman was observed removing the price scan from a $2 Xmas stocking and placing it onto a $29.95 drinking container. The woman then proceeded to self-checkout and scan the item she had altered to receive the lower price. Loss prevention spoke to her outside, and she did come into the store with the item and admit to theft. At this time, Loss Prevention also explained they had 13 prior instances of the suspect doing the same theft, which totaled over $800 that had not been reported. A retail theft charge will be referred to Wood County District Attorney’s office along with the 13 reports going back as far as 2019 for District Attorney review.”

Time: 1431 – 1836
Narrative: “On the above date, a 40-year-old female who is currently incarcerated in jail contacted the complainant by phone. Complainant has a current injunction order against the 40-year-old female which prohibits contact. Request for charges will be forwarded to Wood County DA.”

Incident 6
Date: 11/03/2024
Time: 0228 – 0411
Narrative: “On the above listed date and time, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the above listed location. Upon investigation of the incident, a 31-year-old male and a 27-year-old male had conflicting stories of what took place. Ultimately, both parties were warned for Disorderly Conduct.”

Incident 7
Date: 11/03/2024
Time: 0839 – 1130
Narrative: “Officers were requested to assist in locating a vehicle involved in a disturbance. A male subject had reportedly pointed a handgun at another party and had left the scene. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. A 27-year-old male and 23-year-old female were detained from the vehicle. A handgun was also recovered from the vehicle. The subjects and the firearm were later turned over to Wood County Deputies.”
