MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – St. Vincent de Paul in Marshfield and other outreach agencies received multiple calls from Marshfield area residents regarding a person living under a viaduct in Marshfield.

With the help of the North Central Community Action Program, St. Vincent de Paul Outreach was able to help the person get clothed, fed and housed in a temporary situation the group said in a Facebook post.

The two organizations are still working with the individual to achieve a more permanent solution.

St. Vincent de Paul said they experience homelessness on a daily basis in a Facebook Post.

“The individuals that we work with are generally ‘couch surfing’ or they try very hard not to make their presence known throughout our community,” the post said. “Basically, just because you don’t see them, doesn’t mean that they are not there.”

According to the post, after finding a temporary solution the group helps the individual with education, insight on their current situation and helping them to build and maintain a more self-sustaining future.
