Stevens Point breaks into the Division 1 State Baseball Rankings at number 10 in rankings released by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association and wissports.net. Stevens Point had previously been unranked in the polls.
Stevens Point currently sits in first place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a 12-3 overall record, they swept back to back doubleheaders last week taking two from DC Everest on Thursday before taking two in LaCrosse from LaCrosse Central on Friday.
The top team in Division 1 is Burlington, followed by Janesville Craig and Waunakee.
No local teams are ranked in Division 2, with the top team being Waupaun, followed by Beloit Turner and West DePere.
In Division 3 Iola-Scandinavia jumps up three spots to number 6, followed by Marathon at number 7. Saint Mary Catholic leads the D3 poll followed by Prarie du Chein and Markesan.
Division 4 sees defending Division 3 state champion Webster with the top spot, Mineral Point second, Pecatonica third. Defending Division 4 state champion Athens moved up one spot to number 8 and Greenwood moved up a spot right behind them to number 9.
