Stevens Point Soccer Drops Menomonie

The SPASH Boys Soccer team hosted Menomonie in a non-conference match at PCYS on Tuesday night and came away with a 7-0 victory for the Panthers first victory of the season. Ian Ekstrand paced the Panthers with 2 goals and 2 assists. Eli Chang added 2 goals and an assist, Sivan Dinga had 2 goals, Liam Nimm scored 1 goal, and Omar Mata and Malcolm Chaplinski each added an assist. Coy Brish and Alex Weisgram each recorded 3 saves and combined for the shutout.

“It was a great team effort with several guys getting involved in the scoring. I was happy for Ian and Liam who both scored their first varsity goals. More importantly, I was happy for the team to get their first win. They certainly have worked hard and it was good to see their efforts rewarded with a positive result.”
