Stratford Area Fire Department Celebrates Unique Custom-Made Conference Table Made Through Community Collaboration

STRATFORD, WI (OnFocus) – The Stratford Area Fire Department (SAFD) officially celebrated their exceptional custom-made conference table at a company picnic held on Saturday, August 5. This remarkable table stands as a symbol of community unity and collaboration, showcasing the combined efforts of local businesses and dedicated volunteers.

The conference table, a true work of art, is the result of a year-long collaborative project involving local companies Trimpac, Omega Thermo Products, and Kuyoth Body & Custom. These businesses generously donated both their time and product costs to bring this one-of-a-kind masterpiece to life.

“We had the idea for the conference table and Dan Wenzel and I, along with a few of our members, came up with a plan on how to build it,” said Derek Spindler, a dedicated volunteer firefighter with a 17-year tenure at SAFD. “We wanted to build a conference table to have meetings around: purchasing meetings, commission meetings, debriefings, trainings and that kind of stuff.”

After reaching out to local companies for help with their artistic vision, Spindler was grateful the businesses chose to donate time and supplies to the project. All three businesses were recognized with a “Firm of the Year Award” at the picnic.

Spindler added that the SAFD community is thrilled with the new conference table, which has garnered admiration from other fire departments as well. The table’s unique base is adorned with historic hydrants sourced from Stevens Point, originally in service during the 1930s, adding a touch of history and significance to the piece. The base is also equipped with wheels, allowing for easy mobility and adaptability.

The project’s completion was made possible by the diligent work of SAFD volunteers who dedicated their spare time over the course of a year. As a 100% volunteer-driven fire department, SAFD relies on the passion and commitment of its members to uphold its mission of ensuring public safety.

As SAFD undergoes an ongoing remodel, the addition of this remarkable conference table further reflects the department’s dedication to enhancing its facilities and strengthening community bonds.
