SPENCER – The Stratford boys basketball team capped off an undefeated regular season with a resounding 77-21 nonconference win over Spencer on Saturday afternoon at Spencer High School.
The Tigers (22-0) scored 41 points in the first half to make quick work of Spencer (7-15).
With the reserves playing the majority of the minutes on Saturday, Stratford had 11 different players hit the scoring column.
Hunter Hannan led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds, Chase Flink hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points, and Max Vanderhoof and Brady Bruesewitz added seven points each for Stratford.
Spencer’s statistics were not repored.
Spencer opens WIAA postseason action Tuesday at home against Necedah at 7 p.m. in a Division 4 regional quarterfinal. The winner takes on No. 1 seed Auburndale on March 1.
Stratford is the top seed in its portion of the Division 3 Sectional 1 bracket and earned a first-round bye. The Tigers will host either Viroqua or Adams-Friendship in a regional semifinal March 1 at 7 p.m.
