Voters came out to support the area’s top teams, and it was the Stratford Girls Basketball Team that came away with the honors of being voted the OnFocus Team of the Week, January 7 – January 13, collecting 277 votes.
Stevens Point Boys Hockey picked up 174 votes, good for second place.
OnFocus Team of the Week, January 7 – January 13
- Stevens Point Boys Hockey – The Panthers downed Marshfield 7-0 and have a strangehold on first place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a 7-0 record.
- Stratford Girls Basketball – The Tigers knocked Auburndale from the ranks of the unbeaten, picking up a 58-52 Marawood Conference South win.
- Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Boys Wrestling – The Red Raiders are 4-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, and have dominated their WVC opponents this season. Rapids’ conference wins thus far:Marshfield 48-19, Wausau West(58-15), Wausau East(72-3) and Merrill(57-12)
- Mosinee Boys Hockey – Mosinee thumped Marshfield 8-1 in nonconference boys hockey last week. The Indians are 2-3 in the Great Northern Conference and 9-6 overall.
- Marshfield Boys Swimming – The Tigers picked up a convincing Wisconsin Valley Conference win over Wisconsin Rapids, 125.5 to 42.4, sweeping all events.
