Stratford Student-Athlete Breanna Ackley: “Play Every Game Like it’s Your Last”

Stratford (OnFocus) – Stratford student-athlete Breanna Ackley has had an outstanding career as a volleyball and basketball player for the Tigers, with Ackley’s biggest impact coming on the basketball floor. Easily one of the top basketball players in the state of Wisconsin, Ackley has been able to impact games this season with scoring flurries that wowed spectators. The senior wing propelled Stratford to a Marawood Conference South title with a 10-3 record, 13-7 overall.

Ackley named semifinalist for Senior Basketball Wing Award

Ackley has been voted as an OnFocus Athlete of the Week this winter sport season, and graciously agreed to complete the world-famous interview, ‘Pancakes or Waffls?’, where we learn more about Ackley on and off the court.

OnFocus: What classes are you taking this year?

Ackley: I’m taking algebra 3, psychology, sociology, senior PE, written and oral communications, hobbies and crafts, etc.

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Ackley: Play every game like it’s your last, because before you know it you are a senior.

OnFocus: What is your favorite class?

Ackley: Senior PE.

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

Ackley: Hanging out with friends and family, playing sports, tubing.

OnFocus: Who is/was your favorite teacher?

Ackley: Mrs. Christopherson.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Ackley: Mayo and ketchup, mixed.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Ackley: Hip Hop/Rap.

OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?

Ackley: I plan on continuing my basketball career and attend at a four year college.

Ackley: Volleyball and basketball.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Ackley: Emily Hughes.

OnFocus: What is your most memorable moment as an athlete?

Ackley: Being conference champs every year for volleyball.

OnFocus: Who is your favorite athlete?

Ackley: Candace Parker.

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about playing home games?

Ackley: The crowd and being on a court I practice on everyday.

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Stratford?

Ackley: Being able to have my coach as a teacher and playing with my best friends.

Ackley: Play every game like it’s your last, because before you know it you are a senior.
