Structural Fire in Town of McMillian
Marshfield (OnFocus) – The Town of McMillian, located north of Marshfield, was gripped by a structural fire on Friday afternoon, prompting an urgent response from the area’s fire department and multiple other agencies.
The blaze erupted near the intersection of Galvin Ave and Roman Road. In light of the ongoing emergency, Roman Road to the west has been closed off to ensure the safety of both responders and the public.
One of the major obstacles faced by the responders was the availability of water at the scene. In response, a fleet of tenders was mobilized to haul water from the nearby retention pond, located close to the Town of McMillian Fire Department. Their collaborative efforts were essential in keeping the firefighting operations running smoothly, despite the difficulties posed by the remote location.
Several departments arrived with ladder trucks, allowing for fire fighters to fight the blaze from an aerial position.
As of this reporting, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
