Upon entry, firefighters quickly located and extinguished the blaze, which originated in the basement. A thorough search of the home confirmed that no individuals were trapped inside. The sole occupant was found safe at a neighbor’s house and confirmed that all residents were accounted for.
A total of 16 firefighters responded to the incident, spending 1.25 hours on the scene. Thanks to working smoke alarms, the occupants were alerted early, allowing them to evacuate safely and contact emergency services promptly.
The fire caused moderate damage to the basement from fire, smoke, and water, with additional smoke damage affecting the first floor. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
