Structure Fire in Marshfield Leaves Home Destroyed, Pets Perish

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – At 23:53 hours on Wednesday, June 14, Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched for flames coming from a trailer home at 1407 N Peach.

It was reported that all occupants were out of the home and a dog and a cat remained inside. Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded immediately with two engines and one ambulance. Marshfield Police Department also responded to the scene. Upon arrival the trailer home was fully engulfed with fire with portions of the exterior walls already failing.

A defensive attack was used to extinguish the fire and handlines were used to protect the adjoining structures. The fire was quickly knocked down. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.

A box alarm was requested to assist with manpower from Hewitt Fire department and Wood County Central Fire and Rescue Association. The fire is currently under investigation.

There were no injuries to citizens or fire personnel. One dog and one cat perished in the fire. The structure and its contents are a total loss. The structure and contents were not insured. Minor damage occurred to the adjacent structures to the west and east of the home as a result of heat.
