Vinny, an 11-month old male poodle went missing near Vesper on March 12.

VESPER, WI (OnFocus) – When MacKinzie Schopf dropped her dog Vinny off at an area dog trainer, she had no idea that it would be days and now weeks before she would see him again.

Vinny is an 11-month old white Standard Poodle puppy. He ran away west of Vesper near 55th and Grant in Wood County.

On Saturday, March 12 at 1:45 p.m., Vinny went missing from the trainer’s residence. It has been nine days since then and there have been no sightings of Vinny.

Due to the fact that Vinny is in a place that is far from home, he doesn’t know the area and would likely be wandering to find home. He is a white, medium-sized dog.

Schopf is from Sturgeon Bay and has been working diligently to organize searches and bring awareness in an area that is nearly three hours away from her home.

A Facebook page was created to show pictures of Vinny and for people to post on if they had information on his whereabouts but efforts have been fruitless so far.

Schopf also said she hopes that if someone has Vinny, that they would speak up and return him to his home.

“I would urge that if somebody does have him to bring him in somewhere, anywhere,” Schopf said. “At this point it’s a large concern of ours that somebody has him because he is a standard poodle and he is a good dog and there are a lot of people that could use him for breeding purposes because he is an intact male dog. Maybe he got picked up and somebody has him for those purposes.”

Any information on Vinny’s whereabouts should be directed towards:

Justin Vandehey – (715) 383-3159
MacKinzie Schopf – (920) 493-6225

If you cannot help donate time to the search for Vinny, you can also donate to a GoFundMe set up to help locate Vinny and potentially cover some of his medical bills when he is found. If he is found and doesn’t need medical attention, the remaining money will be donated to an organization that helps reunite missing pets with their owners.
