Sun Prairie Races Past Wisconsin Rapids

Sun Prairie (OnFocus) – Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln went on the road to face #4 ranked Sun Prairie and saw the Cardinals come up gunning right from the onset, falling 49-21 in nonconference action.

The Cardinals opened the game with a bang, taking the opening kickoff 93 yards to the house, and their offense tacked on 3 more touchdowns in short fashion. Sun Prairie outscored Rapids 28-7 in the opening quarter and led 35-14 at halftime.

Leo Brostowitz put Rapids on the board with a 10 yard touchdown in the period. Caden Sengbusch scored from a yard out in the second quarter for Lincoln.

The Raiders’ final score came from Phillip Ross, a 1 yard touchdown in the fourth quarte.

A look at the stats showed Rapids outdueling Sun Prairie. Rapids collected 326 yards to SP’s 291. The Red Raiders controlled the clock, running 63 plays to the Cardinals’ 37 plays.

Brostowitz led all rushers with 185 yards on 23 carries.

Peter Rucker had 5 tackles to pace the Rapids’ defense.
