Sheriff’s Office will NOT participate in the Enforcement

Medford, WI (OnFocus) Thursday evening Sheriff Larry Woebbeking of the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement on the executive ordered signed by Tony Evers on earlier today.

Statement from Taylor County Sheriff’s Office:

July 30th, 2020 – Today Governor Evers announced an executive order of a mandatory face covering requirement. Law enforcement has long had the discretionary authority while enforcing the law. This discretionary authority is a decision-making process that helps law enforcement evaluate the situation and choose a course of action.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office will be exercising that discretionary authority and will NOT participate in the enforcement of this latest executive order.

This order just came out and other local government entities are still processing what this looks like. So please be patient and continue to monitor your local government sites for updates.

Sheriff Larry Woebbeking
